Upgrade Policy
Our upgrade pricing strategy is one that's commonly used in the software industry and is based upon the following:
- updates within a primary version (1.18 to 1.22, etc.) are released as no-charge updates
- a primary version increment (e.g., 1.x to 2.x) is likely to carry an upgrade charge and is normally related to one or more of the following:
- major capability additions
- major changes in the underlying mechanisms
- normally associated with major capability additions
- can be forced by significant changes to OS X (which can result from a primary version update)
We won't consider the 1.x product complete until it supports the version 1 capabilities** so, regardless of other factors, there will be no upgrade charge to any 1.x license to obtain its version 1 capabilities**.
**Version 1 capabilities include:
- Syncing
- contacts in local Mac's Address Book groups, other Macs' Address Book groups, Exchange contact folders and Google contact groups
- calendar events in local Mac's iCal calendars, other Macs' iCal calendars, Exchange calendar folders and Google calendars
- tasks in local Mac's iCal calendars, other Macs' iCal calendars and Exchange calendars
- notes in local Mac's Apple Mail, other Macs' Apple Mail, Exchange notes folders and Google notebooks
