I installed the trial version and it created duplicate contacts in my GMail contacts. I'm a custom domain user and I'm going from Exchange to GMail. The data from Sync'Em put the email address in the notes field with [Email] tags.

The first thing to note is that the article discussing duplicate contact entry removal has some strategies to deal with duplicates.

Apple Address Book, Google Gmail and Exchange all have slightly different capabilities for contact information. Sync'Em preserves these differences by using the [SyncEm Data] insertions. This is discussed in the article on the [SyncEm Data] insertions.

I installed the trial license, and attempted to sync my OS X Address book with my Gmail contacts. Here's the problem: My gmail account is a "hosted" gmail account, meaning that it isn't @gmail.com, it's at my own domain. Yes, everything about it is Gmail, except for the domain. Unfortunately, the setup wizard fills in the "@gmail.com" portion of my account info, leaving me no option to use my hosted gmail account. This isn't a problem in most other apps that sync to Google. Why does Sync'Em have this limitation. Can it be fixed? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

This was a workaround for another issue with the Google APIs. It will be fixed in the release following the 1.24 release. Version 1.24 should be out this week and will add support for Exchange recurring/repeating and detached calendar events. The next release will be focused on fixing the Google account issue so should be out shortly after 1.24.
