Sync'Em 1.28 Released

Contact: Contact form

2009-Apr-18 : Derman Enterprises announces version 1.28 of Sync'Em

Sync'Em - the sync hub for Macs that's designed to multi-sync Microsoft Exchange, Google and Apple contact and calendar information.

Sync'Em is unique in its ability to multi-sync -- sync multiple configurations, each involving multiple information sources with each syncing bidirectionally or unidirectionally. Sync'Em has its own full-featured sync engine that syncs non-Apple sources directly, enabling it to sync Exchange-to-Exchange, Exchange-to-Google and Google-to-Google and perform multi-source conflict resolution in one interaction.

Changes since Sync'Em version 1.27:

- adds the ability to send, from iCal, invite/update/cancellation events via Exchange so all the normal Exchange-based features will work on the Exchange server (e.g., Free/Busy calendar, attendee tracking, etc. will all be updated on the Exchange server). If you're an iCal user within an Exchange-based organization, this is important.

- improves performance when syncing large numbers of items

- adds some User interface improvements (e.g., shows next sync time)

- fixes a problem where contacts from a BlackBerry were not sync'd (Blackberry sync doesn't set the email address display as value which Sync'Em was using to know how many email addresses there are)

- fixes a problem where some Birthday events were not comparing properly and were showing up as a conflict (not to be confused with the ol' personal conflict of getting older!)

- fixes a bug that could crash the Sync'Em Engine if a nonexistent Exchange Locale name started with a slash

- adds detection/workaround for case where OS X's Sync Services erroneously appears to have no changes/content

Today Sync'Em syncs Exchange, Google/Gmail and/or Address Book contacts and Exchange and/or iCal calendar events. Soon Sync'Em will be updated to sync Google calendar events and add multiple Mac-to-Mac syncing that syncs pre-sync'd information, for maximum efficiency. See http://www.syncem.com/SyncEm-Product-Roadmap for more information.

Sync'Em can be downloaded via http://www.syncem.com/SyncEm-Download and requires Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5. 15-day 2-Mac full-featured Trial licenses are free and all version 1.x updates are free to registered owners.
