Upgrade Policy

Our upgrade pricing strategy is one that's commonly used in the software industry and is based upon the following:

  • updates within a primary version (1.18 to 1.22, etc.) are released as no-charge updates
  • a primary version increment (e.g., 1.x to 2.x) is likely to carry an upgrade charge and is normally related to one or more of the following:
    • major capability additions
    • major changes in the underlying mechanisms
      • normally associated with major capability additions
      • can be forced by significant changes to OS X (which can result from a primary version update)

We won't consider the 1.x product complete until it supports the version 1 capabilities** so, regardless of other factors, there will be no upgrade charge to any 1.x license to obtain its version 1 capabilities**.

**Version 1 capabilities include:

  • Syncing
    • contacts in local Mac's Address Book groups, other Macs' Address Book groups, Exchange contact folders and Google contact groups
    • calendar events in local Mac's iCal calendars, other Macs' iCal calendars, Exchange calendar folders and Google calendars
  • Printer-friendly version
